1H 2007 budget of Uzbekistan surplus at 1.9% of GDP

Uzbekistan had a budget surplus of 201.5 billion soums, or 1.9% of GDP,
in the first half of 2007, a source on the country's parliamentary
Budget and Economic Reform Committee said.
Budget revenue was 2.739 trillion soums, or 54% of the annual target,
in the first half of 2007. Spending was 2.538 trillion soums, or 47.8%
of the target.
The Uzbek parliament approved the 2007 federal
budget in November 2006 with a deficit of 233.3 billion soums, or 1% of
the planned GDP, compared to 1.5% in 2006. Revenue was approved at
5.071 trillion soums, or 21.8% of planned GDP and spending at 5.304
trillion soums, or 22.8% of GDP.
