Uzbekistan
celebrates Navruz holiday on 21 March, which symbolizes the coming of
spring. The grand celebrations of the holiday were held at the National
park named after Alisher Navoi on Saturday.
The members of
the government and the parliament, the representatives of the science,
culture, arts, sports and other spheres, foreign diplomats and
representatives of the international organizations participated in the
celebrations.
The President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov participated the gathered with the Navruz holiday.
The head of the state said that Navruz differed from other holidays with its beauty and philosophical meaning.
Navruz symbolized the richness of the spiritual world, ancient values and national traditions.
During
the years of independence, Navruz has become a truly national holiday,
reflecting the people’s kindness, open-heartedness and generosity.
This year Navruz was met with wide-scale improvement and tree-planting activities.
The
celebrations at the National park started with the children’s songs and
dances, followed by performances of known and young singers.
